Baseball Recap: Papillion-LaVista Comes Up Short

Papillion-LaVista and Lincoln East squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Papillion-LaVista had to settle for second. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 6-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Monarchs were not able to get on the board.

Brett Hoelscher was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.

Papillion-LaVista's loss dropped their record down to 20-12. As for Lincoln East, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 30-3.

Papillion-LaVista wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Millard West on the 19th. Lincoln East has also already played their next game (against Millard South), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
