Basketball Recap: Mckenzie Starts off Right with Win over Pleasant Home + How To Watch

McKenzie had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Pleasant Home Eagles by a score of 74-65. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 72-70 loss the last time these two teams met.

McKenzie was led to victory by Quay Jackson and Devin Covan. Jackson dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 assists, while Covan shot 6-for-11 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. Those 13 assists gave Jackson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Huggins, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Pleasant Home's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKenzie will head out to face off against Pike Liberal Arts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 70.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pleasant Home, they will take on Red Level at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
