Football Recap: Delta Takes a Loss

If Delta was riding high fresh off their 76-0 takedown of West Campus last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saints were beaten by the Vacaville Christian Falcons 60-26 on Friday. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

Chase Parkinson threw for 305 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Cruz Parkinson was his top target, picking up 111 receiving yards and two scores. On the ground, Jax Soto rushed for 28 yards and one TD.

Chendo Ramirez had a dynamite game For Vacaville Christian., picking up 128 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also rushing for 42 yards and one TD. Those 128 receiving yards gave Ramirez a new career-high.

Delta has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Vacaville Christian, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Delta will venture away from home to challenge Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.86 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Vacaville Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on Turlock Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
