Recap: Hilltop Cadets vs. Hicksville Aces
Even though the Hilltop Cadets have not done well against the Hicksville Aces recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Hilltop took down Hicksville 54-37. Winning may never get old, but Hilltop sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Despite the loss, Hicksville saw an underclassman step up: Kennedy Adams scored 14 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenna Baird, who scored eight points.
Even though they lost, Hicksville were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Hilltop pushed their record up to 3-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Hicksville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilltop's road trip will continue as they head out to face Edon at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Edon and Hilltop are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Hicksville, they will head out on the road to face off against Stryker at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
