Basketball Recap: Maurepas Takes a Loss

After flying high against False River last Tuesday, Maurepas came back down to earth. The Maurepas Wolves lost to the Family Christian Flames at home by a 58-39 margin on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flames this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-41 two weeks ago.

Maurepas now has a losing record of 16-17. As for Family Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 25 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 31-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maurepas will welcome Amite at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Family Christian, they will take on Bogalusa at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Bogalusa has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Family Christian will come in with seven straight victories.
