Soccer Game Preview: Vacaville vs. Pioneer

The Vacaville Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Pioneer Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Vacaville took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2025, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Rodriguez get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Vacaville in their matchups with Rodriguez: they've now won three in a row.

Michael Brenes and Noah Beltran scored both of Vacaville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pioneer). They blew past Wood 6-2 on Friday. Given Pioneer's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Wood are ranked 691st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vacaville's record is now 3-1-1. As for Pioneer, their record now sits at 8-0-3.

Vacaville beat Pioneer 3-1 when the teams last played back in January of 2025. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
