Softball Recap: Leander Lions vs. Liberty Hill Panthers

It was a proper cat-fight when Leander challenged Liberty Hill on Tuesday. Leander fell just short of Liberty Hill by a score of 6-5. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 7-3.

Scarlett Geurin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Aliyah Allen and Rachel Grundei stepped up to the plate in a big way. Allen scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Grundei scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Leander's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Liberty Hill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3-1 record this season.
