Soccer Game Preview: Argyle vs. Ryan

The Argyle Eagles will square off against the Ryan Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Argyle will be strutting in after a win while Ryan will be coming in after a loss.

Argyle's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Denton. Bentley Mitties had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Argyle.

Meanwhile, Ryan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Colleyville Heritage who was credited with the win. The Panthers got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Ryan's two. While losing is never fun, Ryan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while Colleyville Heritage are ranked 183rd).

Argyle's victory bumped their record up to 9-2-1. As for Ryan, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Argyle came out on top in a nail-biter against Ryan in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
