Preview: Pikeville Panthers vs. Huntington Expression Prep Kings
The Pikeville Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Huntington Expression Prep Kings at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pikeville is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Pikeville put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They put the hurt on Shelby Valley with a sharp 70-48 win. Given Pikeville's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Shelby Valley is ranked 178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Huntington Expression Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for last Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hamilton Heights Christian Academy and snuck past 82-79. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pikeville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Huntington Expression Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
