Basketball Recap: Seymour Tigers vs. Norwood Pirates
Seymour lost against Norwood back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Seymour Tigers had to suffer through a 63-28 loss at the hands of the Norwood Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Pirates are ranked 51st).
Norwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addy Gray out in front who went 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points. Gray continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Chambers, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.
Seymour's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Norwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
Seymour does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norwood, they have already played their next contest, a 59-45 win against Mansfield on the 27th.
