Softball Preview: Hamilton Yankees vs. Marquez Gladiators

The Hamilton Yankees are on the road again on Friday to play the Marquez Gladiators at 3:00 p.m. Hamilton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.

Hamilton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Canoga Park as Hamilton made off with a 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for Hamilton, who have now won eight contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Samantha Moreno was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Samantha Peralta, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Marquez unfortunately witnessed the end of their 15-game winning streak last Thursday. They lost 9-1 to South Gate. Marquez was red-hot at the plate headed into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the 11 matchups prior) but South Gate's pitchers proved too tough.

Hamilton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. As for Marquez, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-4.
