Baseball Recap: San Fernando Finds Home Field Redemption Against Marshall

There's no place like home for San Fernando, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past the Marshall Barristers 10-4 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Ramon Amezcua was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Matthew Carlos, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

San Fernando was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

San Fernando's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Marshall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

San Fernando is taking a road trip to challenge Verdugo Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Marshall, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Bravo on the 23rd.
