Softball Recap: West Central Makes It Three in a Row at Home

West Central won the last time they faced Caston and things went their way on Monday too. The Trojans walked away with a 9-4 win over the Comets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Jalie Glasford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, West Central let Cassidy Lattimore and Kyra Leman run wild. Lattimore went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Leman got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three RBI gave Lattimore a new career-high. Macie Allen was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one double.

West Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Caston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

West Central has already played their next contest, a 13-6 victory against Hebron on the 29th. As for Caston, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-5 defeat against Maconaquah on the 29th.
