Basketball Recap: Monticello Beats Orange County for Their Third Straight Win

Monticello waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-46 W against the Orange County Fighting Hornets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-55 back in January.

Among those leading the charge was Zayden Simpson, who posted 12 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Rae Sanchez, who had nine points.

Monticello smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Monticello's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Orange County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Monticello nor Orange County have any future games scheduled.
