Basketball Game Preview: Sycamore Spartans vs. LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers

Sycamore and LaSalle-Peru are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Sycamore Spartans will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sycamore is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering DeKalb just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Barbs, falling 59-38. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, LaSalle-Peru had to suffer through a 72-32 loss at the hands of Kaneland. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Knights are ranked 44th).

LaSalle-Peru has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Sycamore, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.

Sycamore beat LaSalle-Peru 65-58 in their previous matchup back in January. Does Sycamore have another victory up their sleeve, or will LaSalle-Peru turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
