Preview: Central Yellowjackets vs. Casey County Rebels
The Central Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Casey County Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Casey County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Central, who comes in off a win.
Central put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by DuBois Academy on the road to the tune of 30-0. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while DuBois Academy is ranked 190th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Steven Smith looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Amontez ?Koolaid? Woolfolk and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Casey County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 27-13 to Rockcastle County.
Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Casey County, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Central against Casey County in their previous meeting back in November of 2014 as the squad secured a 48-7 win. Does Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Casey County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
