Volleyball Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale Takes a Loss

St. Benedict at Auburndale came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Northpoint Christian Trojans, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

St. Benedict at Auburndale took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-11, 25-14.

Despite the defeat, St. Benedict at Auburndale saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Adelyn Price had ten digs and one assist. Price is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played. Paavni Vasishta also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Northpoint Christian found their leader in freshman Skylar Morris, who had ten digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Morris.

St. Benedict at Auburndale's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Northpoint Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

St. Benedict at Auburndale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against St. Agnes Academy on the 27th. Northpoint Christian has also already played their next contest (against Harding Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
