It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Middletown had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 48-47 victory over the Arroyo Dons. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won seven matches in a row.

Jon Hawkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 70% from the field on his way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Middletown's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bodhi Moore, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Middletown pushed their record up to 22-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points over those games. As for Arroyo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.

Middletown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-40 win against Mission San Jose on the 22nd. Arroyo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
