Baseball Recap: Cabrillo Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Millikan, Cabrillo was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Jordan Panthers by a score of 5-1. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Panthers back in April, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Adam Rosalez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. Cabrillo is 6-1 when Rosalez allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-11 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bendito Diaz, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mikal Cockrell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Cabrillo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jordan only posted an OBP of .300.

The win got Cabrillo back to even at 12-12. As for Jordan, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-14.

As of now, neither Cabrillo nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
