Basketball Game Preview: North Rowan Cavaliers vs. North Stanly Comets

The North Rowan Cavaliers are taking a road trip to face off against the North Stanly Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

North Rowan took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They breezed by West Davidson to the tune of 86-36. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 31 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, North Stanly waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 66-55. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Cardinals are ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Stanly's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.2 points per game. As for North Rowan, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

North Rowan lost to North Stanly on the road by a decisive 59-42 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2021. Can North Rowan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
