Basketball Recap: Roeper Comes Up Short

Roeper lost against Southfield Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Roeper Roughriders had to suffer through a 74-43 loss at the hands of the Southfield Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Roughriders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 595th, while the Eagles are ranked 181st).

Roeper's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Southfield Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roeper will host Inter-City Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Inter-City Baptist knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Roeper likes a good challenge. As for Southfield Christian, they will welcome Cardinal Mooney Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southfield Christian is facing Cardinal Mooney Catholic at the right time seeing as Cardinal Mooney Catholic is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
