New Deal has gone a perfect 10-0 against Lockney recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The New Deal Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Lockney Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

New Deal was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Nazareth on Tuesday. Everything went New Deal's way against Nazareth as New Deal made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Lions have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Lockney was not the first on the board last Saturday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victor by a 15-1 margin over Springlake-Earth. The victory continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won five in a row.

Dyllan Thiebaud made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Darrin Jimenez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Bo Alvis also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Lockney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lockney now has a winning record of 3-2. As for New Deal, their record now sits at 5-1.

New Deal took their win against Lockney in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Deal since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
