Baseball Recap: Belpre Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Belpre duked it out with Eastern on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles fell 5-1 to the Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Belpre saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Copen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Copen is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Belpre's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Eastern, their record is now 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Belpre will take on rival Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Eastern is set to face off against their familiar foe Federal Hocking at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
