Volleyball Recap: Utah Military Academy - Hill Field Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Utah Military Academy - Hill Field duked it out with Freedom Prep Academy on Wednesday. The Thunderbirds fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Thunderbirds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Utah Military Academy - Hill Field actually scored more points across those five sets (101-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 21-25, 14-25, 25-20, 15-11.

Papatia Owda paced Utah Military Academy - Hill Field's offense, picking up 15 kills. Owda got some help from Vincent Butler and his 45 assists. Owda was also solid from the service line: he led the team with seven aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Utah Military Academy - Hill Field and nudges their season record down to 5-12. As for Freedom Prep Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Utah Military Academy - Hill Field will be playing in front of their home fans against Morgan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freedom Prep Academy, they will head out to face off against Vanguard Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
