Baseball Recap: Ellet Drops Season-High Score on North

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ellet). They blew past the North Vikings 19-2 on Wednesday. The Orangemen haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Andrew Muckleroy made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Muckleroy was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. That run marked the first that he scored this season.

In other batting news, Keaton McKeel was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Josh Sims, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.

Ellet always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .652. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ellet's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Ellet will venture away from home to square off against Rootstown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North, they will host East at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
