Basketball Recap: Slinger Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cedarburg, Slinger was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the West Bend East Suns as the Slinger Owls made off with a 50-25 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Owls as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

West Bend East's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kara Hesse, who posted five points in addition to seven boards and four steals, and Emberlyn Ahles, who earned four points. The dominant performance also gave Hesse a new career-high in blocks (two).

Slinger's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13. As for West Bend East, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

When Slinger and West Bend East next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Slinger will try to stop Homestead's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, West Bend East will challenge Whitefish Bay and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
