Tanner McCain posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Wednesday. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Enochs is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 10-11 otherwise.

McCain's strong effort led Enochs over Downey and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
