Basketball Recap: King City Comes Up Short

King City lost against St. Francis on January 6th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The King City Mustangs were outmatched by the St. Francis Sharks and fell 71-33. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1345th, while the Sharks are ranked 659th).

King City has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for St. Francis, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing North Salinas the next time they take the court. St. Francis will host North Salinas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while King City will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th.
