Lincoln faced Roosevelt in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Patriots' defense stepped up to hand the Rough Riders a 7-0 shutout. Considering Lincoln have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Lincoln's fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five matchups. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lincoln is set to square off against their familiar foe Tea at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Roosevelt will take on rival O'Gorman at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
