Volleyball Preview: Northmor Golden Knights vs. Loudonville Redbirds

The Northmor Golden Knights will face off against the Loudonville Redbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northmor is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.

Last Tuesday, Northmor came up short against Centerburg and fell 3-1. The Golden Knights haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Northmor started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-17, 25-13, 25-11.

Despite the defeat, Northmor saw an underclassman step up: Kallie Wright had 16 digs. Wright is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last nine games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Trainer, who had five digs and three aces.

Meanwhile, Loudonville waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They won by a set and slipped past the Bulldogs 3-2.

Loudonville wouldn't go down easily and took East Knox into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-20, 15-7.

Northmor's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Loudonville, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
