Softball Recap: Fulton Jaguars vs. Northridge Academy Pumas

Fulton had lost six straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-10 to make it seven. They came up short against the Northridge Academy Pumas, falling 25-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pumas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 26-0 back in March.

As for Northridge Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-3. Considering they have won 13 matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Northridge Academy's part, Alondra Laguna was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Laguna has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jackie Nettles was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one triple. Guadalupe Ortiz was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two RBI.

Fulton has already played their next game, a 17-6 loss against Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences on the 1st. As for Northridge Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-3 defeat against Sherman Oaks CES on the 1st.
