Basketball Recap: Turpin Comes Up Short

Turpin lost against Merritt back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Turpin Cardinals took a blow against the Merritt Oilers, falling 60-30. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Oilers are ranked 20th).

Turpin's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Merritt, they pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cardinals take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Merritt, they will face off against Hobart at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hobart will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Merritt surely won't give up without a fight.
