Baseball Recap: Brookville Comes Up Short

Brookville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bellbrook Golden Eagles. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Brookville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Horn, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Brayden Reich also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Brookville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bellbrook, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Brookville will be playing in front of their home fans against Waynesville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Blue Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Bellbrook, they are taking a road trip to challenge Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
