New Canaan came tearing into Friday's match with ten straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Staples Wreckers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in September.
The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18, 22-25, 25-23.
Helena Jan was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 28 assists and three aces.
Jan wasn't the only good servers: New Canaan was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in eight consecutive matchups.
New Canaan's victory bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Staples, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Looking ahead, New Canaan will face off against Ludlowe at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Staples does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
