Baseball Recap: Half Moon Bay Wins Going Away Against El Camino

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Half Moon Bay and El Camino, and Half Moon Bay kept the tradition alive. The Cougars blew past the Colts 9-3 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Colts on Tuesday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Jason Couto was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Gio Ormando, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Half Moon Bay's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-16. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for El Camino, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.
