Baseball Recap: Firth Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Firth barely beat Challis the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Tuesday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.

Michael Adams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Firth let Grant Vasquez and Beau Ringel run wild. Vasquez went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Ringel got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Vasquez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrell Vasquez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Firth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive matchups.

Firth's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Challis, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-6-1.
