Softball Recap: Southwest Has No Trouble Against Hurley

Southwest never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hurley on Thursday. They blew past the Tigers 15-7. Considering the Trojans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Kaleigh Tull spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Riley Flippo, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jacee Durossette, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.

Southwest's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Hurley, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest will host Crane at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hurley, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Purdy at 5:00 p.m.
