It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mattanawcook ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Dexter Tigers 7-6. The Lynx's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

True Weatherbee made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Weatherbee was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Owen Harper was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Chase Stevens, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Mattanawcook's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Dexter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Mattanawcook wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-1 win against Stearns on the 16th. As for Dexter, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 victory against Searsport on the 19th.
