Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Black Labs vs. Cross Stingrays
Legacy Christian Academy had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell victim to a rough 13-1 defeat at the hands of the Cross Stingrays on Friday.
For Cross' part, Savannah Hollings made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Hollings was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bethany Carlson, who went 4-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Alaysia Hollings was another key contributor, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Cross now has a winning record of 2-1.
Legacy Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cross, they will head out on the road to take on Colleton Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
