Basketball Game Preview: Mullen Mustangs vs. Arapahoe Warriors

Mullen is 8-2 against Arapahoe since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Mullen Mustangs will take on the Arapahoe Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Mullen is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Last Wednesday, Mullen didn't have too much trouble with Overland as they won 61-47.

Mullen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keaton Arangua-Egbert out in front who posted 13 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Those eight rebounds gave Arangua-Egbert a new career-high. Cheyenne Huber was another key player, going 6 of 8 en route to 14 points.

Meanwhile, Arapahoe unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 74-50 to Cherokee Trail. The Warriors were down 61-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Mullen is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Arapahoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Mullen barely slipped by Arapahoe in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 51-50. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Arapahoe's Liz Gentry, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Now that she won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for Mullen to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
