Soccer Game Preview: James Island vs. West Ashley

James Island has won three straight games at home, while West Ashley has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Trojans will welcome the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

James Island is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Stall a 9-0 shutout on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for James Island considering their one-goal performance the match before.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times West Ashley and Ashley Ridge had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Swamp Foxes 2-1. Given West Ashley's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Ashley Ridge are ranked 66th) , the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Naima Gates and Ari Cohen scored both of West Ashley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

West Ashley's win bumped their record up to 11-3-1. As for James Island, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
