Baseball Recap: St. Mark's Comes Up Short

If St. Mark was riding high fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Rivers on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions came up short against the Winchendon Wapiti on Friday, falling 11-4. The Lions have struggled against the Wapiti recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

St. Mark's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for Winchendon, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

Looking ahead, St. Mark's will face off against Governor's Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Governors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Winchendon, they will square off against Putnam Science Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Putnam Science Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Winchendon surely won't give up without a fight.
