Soccer Game Preview: Kofa vs. Cibola

The Kofa Kings will head out to challenge the Cibola Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Kofa is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: San Luis, who was ranked fifth at the time (Kofa was ranked 18th). Kofa fell just short of San Luis by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Kings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cibola played in conference for the first time on Thursday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They beat Gila Ridge by a goal, winning 2-1.

Kofa's loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3-2. As for Cibola, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.

Kofa was able to grind out a solid victory over Cibola when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kofa since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
