Football Recap: Varela Comes Up Short

Varela was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braddock Bulldogs. The Vipers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Braddock's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeremy Colon, who rushed for 67 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also picked up 40 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Varela's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Braddock, their record now sits at 3-4.

Coincidentally, Varela and Braddock will both be playing Hialeah Gardens the next time they take the field. The Vipers will head out to face the Gladiators at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
