Basketball Recap: Lennox Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Lennox lost to Roncalli back in January of 2017, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Lennox Orioles walked away with a 57-47 victory over the Roncalli Cavaliers. Given the Orioles' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 72nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Lennox and bumps their season record up to 9-4. As for Roncalli, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lennox will host Elk Point-Jefferson at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lennox has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 175 points over their last three matchups. As for Roncalli, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Groton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Groton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
