TAPPS Six-Man Division I District 5 (6 Man) recap Oct. 30, 2012

Logos Prep Academy took down Covenant Christian 72-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

The Lions led TAPPS Six-Man Division I District 5 (6 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 72 points on the Cougars.

Alpha Omega Academy's dynamic duo of Marco Pardo and Kirby Logan proved tough for Baytown Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pardo threw for 95 yards and two touchdowns and Logan had 48 yards receiving. Chris Shirley helped Alpha Omega Academy's passing attack out by catching four balls for 47 yards.

Blake Smith was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 135 yards on 12 carries as the Bulldogs defeated the Bulldogs.

Alpha Omega Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pardo has thrown for 756 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Shirley has 25 catches for 491 yards. Shirley leads the league in rushing with 546 yards.

Two of the top units in TAPPS Six-Man Division I District 5 (6 Man) will face off this week when Alpha Omega Academy takes on First Baptist Christian. The Lions' offense has recorded 337 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Warriors have permitted only 185 on the year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when First Baptist Christian takes on Alpha Omega Academy. Wayne Teutsch's team is in first place, while the Lions are in third place.

Alpha Omega Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 571 from 628. The improvement came about via a 56-6 victory over Baytown Christian last week.
