Basketball Recap: Lawson Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Lawson faced off against Braymer on Tuesday. The Lawson Cardinals took a 67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braymer Bobcats. While the Cardinals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 16-10 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Lawson still got an impressive performance from Isaac Willoughby, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 20 points and eight boards. That was a full 36.4% of Lawson's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Chase Jones was another key player, putting up six points.

Lawson dropped their record down to 6-13 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Braymer, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Lawson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-44 win against Brookfield on the 31st. Braymer has also already played their next contest, a 66-54 victory against Plattsburg on the 29th.
