Two dominant signal callers in Kaine Hill and Graylyn Fry are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Springtown Porcupines will take on the Panther Creek Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Springtown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Lake Worth a 55-0 shutout. The win was just business as usual for the Porcupines, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jon Anthony Lardizabal and Teagan Hair. Lardizabal rushed for 156 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries while Hair rushed for 143 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Lardizabal a new career-high. Riley Jackson was another key player, picking up 40 receiving yards and two scores.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Springtown, racking up 24 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Brennan Smith: he added 21 points with seven field goals.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Springtown's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Luis Lazcano was the leader with two.
Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last contest, Panther Creek made sure to put some points up on the board against Carter on Thursday. The Panthers took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-7 victory over the Cowboys. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Cowboys are ranked 492nd).
Springtown better focus on containing Shawn White and Donovan Webb as the pair were huge in Panther Creek's win. White rushed for 78 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries, while Webb rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
Panther Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Elyon White. He is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last six games he's played.
Springtown's record now sits at 11-0. As for Panther Creek, their record is now 9-2.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Springtown has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 190.9 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Panther Creek has preferred to attack from the air: they average 289.5 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
