Recap: Gilead Christian Eagles vs. Shekinah Christian Flames
The Gilead Christian Eagles were the 40-36 winner over the Shekinah Christian Flames when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Gilead Christian was outmatched by Shekinah Christian on the road and fell 62-31. Gilead Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-15.
Shekinah Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Haylee Beachy out in front who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Beachy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Eleyna Beachy was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Gilead Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Shekinah Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Gilead Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kingsway Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Shekinah Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Genoa Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m.
