Baseball Game Preview: Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls vs. Roswell Coyotes

For the second straight game, Carlsbad will face off against Roswell. The Cavemen/Cavegirls are taking a road trip to challenge the Coyotes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Carlsbad is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Carlsbad's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Roswell with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Cavemen/Cavegirls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Roswell's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elias Lujan, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Carlsbad's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Roswell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
